Welcome to the Norco Civic Association Christmas Parade

Merry Christmas

About Us

The Norco Civic Association Christmas parade rolls through the streets of Norco, Louisiana, on the first Sunday in December at 2 p.m.. (There's also a Christmas parade in Norco, California. That's not us!)

A Norco tradition in the early-to-mid 1970s, the annual Christmas parade stopped rolling for a while in the 80s and 90s.

A group of citizens who remembered the fun, and some newcomers, helped revive the parade in 2001. It has rolled every year since, except for 2016, due to inclement weather (our first rainout!) and in 2005 after Hurricane Katrina. That year, the community elected to scale back to a Sunday celebration.

The parade has honored Veterans, its own citizens, the Super Bowl, Christmas songs, River Parishes traditions, movies and even elections with its themes, and has grown to approximately 70 entries each year.

We have been joined by The 610 Stompers, The St. Augustine Marching 100the Navy band, Destrehan High School's band, Riverside Academy's band and East St. John High School's band. We've welcomed Amanda Shaw and the Zephyrs' Boudreaux and Clothilde, as well.

The parade begins at River Road and Washington Street, turns north on Good Hope Street, turns west on Sixth Street and then south on Apple Street.  It disbands at Apple Street and River Road.

After the parade, Santa will pose for FREE photos (bring  your camera or cell phone) with children next to the Community Christmas Tree, located in the former Capital One Bank parking lot on Apple Street. Children receive a free GIANT candy cane as well!

We welcome a wide variety of participants in our parade, including (but not limited to):
